Natural Hydraulic Lime 2.0, or Feebly Hydraulic Lime, is a more pliable substance for interior/exterior plastering and stucco. With projects that call for softer masonry techniques, 2.0 NHL is ideal. It has increased elasticity, and permeability, to better support older buildings with more flexibility.
Having the lower modulus of elasticity in 2.0 NHL allows for better work with friable mortar, and makes restoration projects simpler. Any careful work with crumbling, older mortar is instantly smoother by using softer lime.
The higher permeability of 2.0 NHL is designed for humid settings, or areas with extreme or fluctuating conditions, to expand and contract with the weather. Other types of mortar can’t adapt as readily, and crack or become brittle over time.
Natural Hydraulic Lime 2.0 has up to 10% of active hydraulic components, like clay, and will set within one week of mixing with water. Because of its high elasticity and high breathability, 2.0 is the natural choice for historic buildings over more brittle options, like Portland mortar.
